The Hawaii Academy of Arts & Science in Pahoa will present its sixth annual Spooktacular — billed as Puna’s scariest and most elaborate haunted house — from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The HAAS Theatre Arts Program is going all out to make the haunted house “the scariest yet,” with entrance limited to folks 12 or older. “Even the zombies are crawling out of their graves,” said school spokesman Michael Dodge. Tickets are $8, and parental discretion is advised.
“The Community Action Network is hosting a ‘Creepy Cave’ for the brave, and a magical ‘Keikiland’ for the child in all of us,” said Dodge. Both attractions will use scrip sold on site. “In addition, there will be plenty of food and amazing local entertainment, making this a full-featured community event.”
The HAAS Public Charter School campus, off the Pahoa Bypass, will be transformed to entertain the whole family.
“Please show your community spirit and support the children of Puna and watch as they express themselves in the spirit of Halloween,” said Dodge. For more information, contact the school at 965-3730.
