Sunrise Athletics 5K Walk/Run and 2.5-mile Keiki Fun Run will be held Sunday, Nov. 17 at Waiakea High School.
Both races start at 9 a.m., and late registration and packet pick-up will be held from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m.
Early bird entry, if postmarked by Oct. 27, is a non-refundable fee of $20 for 5K (all ages) and $10 for the Keiki 2.5-miler (youth 12 and under). The fee includes a choice of a T-shirt or drawstring bag. Applications should not be mailed after Nov. 11, but instead turned on race day.
The fundraiser will help offset travel costs for the Sunrise Athletics’ trip to the Footlocker Western Regional Cross Country Championships.

Parker School to host
Nov. 9 Heneghan Run
Parker School will host its 14th annual Heneghan Run on Nov. 9, and the event consists of a 1K Keiki Run and a 5K Fun Run.
All proceeds will go to Parker’s Ohana Day canned food drive for local food banks. The entry fee for adults is $15 plus two cans of food, and for students, $10 plus two cans of food.
Registration begins at 7:15 a.m. on race day. The run starts at 8:30 a.m., while the 5K starts at 9 a.m. The fee includes a T-shirt and refreshments at the event, however, participants whose registration forms are received after Nov. 1 are not guaranteed a T-shirt.
The event was established in memory of Hawaii architect George Heneghan, who coached cross country and track at Parker from 1992-1998.

at trap/skeet range
Milford Tabura and Neil Arakaki won their events Oct. 13 as O.S.O.K. held a compact sports clay shoot Oct. 13 at the County Trap and Skeet Range.
The 95-target event included 18 shooters.

Sub-gauge: Neil Arakaki 46; Ronald Nakamura 40
The next shoot, a sub-gauge event, will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 17.

Ace at Volcano
Van Roberson hit a hole-in-one Friday on the 182-yard 10th hole at Volcano Country Club, using a 3-hybrid while playing with Poakahi Golf Club.
Witnessing Roberson’s first ace were Bobby Sanchez, James Melena and Phil Tye.
