The Hawaii Island Contractors’ Association (HICA) and its co-sponsors, Bank of Hawaii and Honsador Lumber, on June 22 awarded three $750 scholarships to second-year Hawaii Community College students Lenning Mondina, an electrical installation and maintenance technology major, and to architectural, engineering and CAD Technologies majors Jurene Shiroma and Malia Souza. For the past 14 years, the HICA and its co-sponsors have held an annual Scholarship Trolling Tournament to raise funds for the grants for students pursuing degrees in construction-related fields.
