July is Ronald McDonald House Charities of Hawaii (RMHC-Hawaii) and Mobi PCS “Recycle for Keiki” month. It’s a chance for everyone to help the families and kids staying at Hawaii’s Ronald McDonald Houses while at the same time helping to clean up the environment. There is even a prize drawing at the end of the month for those bringing their electronics in for recycling.
“Almost everyone has old cell phones, cell phone accessories or other outdated electronic devices lying around their house somewhere, and this is the month to get motivated, and turn that clutter into healing power,” said Bill Jarvis, Mobi PCS president and CEO.
The list of items eligible for recycling now includes phones, PDAs, iPods, digital cameras, tablets and chargers.
Coordinators are accepting items in any condition, and of any age, model and carrier.
The public is urged to bring their recyclable items to any of the 10 Mobi PCS stores or 35 dealers statewide. To find the various locations, visit www.mobipcs.com/locations.
The Big Island’s Mobi PCS retail store is in Hilo’s Prince Kuhio Plaza.
“Every cent raised from the recycling will be donated to RMHC-HI,” said Jarvis.
