Volunteers offer free tax services
The residents at Life Care Center of Hilo were once again visited by the special volunteer angels at AARP.
Local site coordinator Sets Fukushima and Janet Arizumi arranged for the AARP IRS Tax Aide Program to help prepare tax forms for the residents.
These volunteers worked hard to complete tax returns for residents who needed assistance.
AARP volunteers help assist with taxes for the elderly in many locations across the state annually and have done this for over 35 years.
Every year the AARP volunteers have to take classes to learn the new information on taxes so that they can provide this much needed service for the elderly in the community and at Life Care.
If AARP did not do this service, then over 1,200 community and nursing facility members on the Island of Hawaii would not be able to get their taxes completed. We thank them very much.
