A body of 25-year-old Brittany-Jane Royal was found in the water right in front of where the lava reaches the ocean in Kalapana. An autopsy determined that she was strangled. She was a recently arrived visitor from California who was visiting the Puna area.
This is just one news item in (the May 31 Tribune-Herald), which also has a small story about a Alaska man who is missing — Boaz D. Johnson, 22 years old, with brown hair and blue eyes.
There are hundreds of cases like these every year on the Big Island alone, and most never even get any news attention at all unless there are family members who do the effort.
The useless Hawaii Police Department never investigates any of the cases, either. The only reason Dana Ireland got investigated was because her parents hired their own investigators, and the police did all they could to cover up for the perpetrators.
Then they still have not arrested the fourth guy involved, and a guy called “Surfer Dave” knows who he is. Dave won’t tell me who, but he said that the cops know who it was.
So if you want to find out who did the murder of Brittany-Jane Royal do it on your own, and believe me, the cops will be after you.

How does our government … have the audacity to raise our property taxes by 10 percent — and all of our fees at county and state agencies — and yet not pass minimum-wage increase? Have our representatives gone completely blind?

Regarding the two young people who met their early demise Tuesday (“Two die in wreck,” Tribune Herald, May 30): Will people never learn that driving a vehicle is a serious and sometimes deadly experience?
So many believe the laws and rules of traffic are restricting their rights.
All rules and laws are usually made because of serious events. Seat belts and “click it or ticket” were put on the books for the safety of the driver and passengers. The sooner drivers realize this, the better their chance of surviving an accident.
Young people: You want to live a long life? Respect the rules of the road and the laws!
