The American Cancer Society announces the opening of a new resource center in Kailua-Kona.
Tiana Steinberg, owner/operator of Tiana’s Avon & Wigs, has been waiting for this moment for many, many years. As a cancer survivor, she knows how devastating the emotional and physical side effects of cancer treatment can be.
“Spending time with her in her shop, one will learn how warm and compassionate she is. Her engaging smile and upbeat personality greet all who walk into her shop,” said ACS spokeswoman Cecily Nago.
Steinberg has dedicated space in her shop to assist cancer patients facing hair loss. Starting June 1, wigs, turbans, and other related products will be available to cancer patients currently going through treatment free of charge at The ACS Resource Center Wig Closet. Products available at the Wig Closet are made possible through community fundraising events. Certain restrictions apply.
The public is invited to attend the Wig Closet opening from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, at Tiana’s Avon & Wigs at 74-5599 Luhia St., D4. For more information please call the American Cancer Society at 935-0025 or Steinberg at 326-2866.
