FRANCHISE ME! — a seminar on everything you wanted to know about franchising but didn’t know who to ask — will be presented from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, May 10, in the Bank of Hawaii conference room at 74-5447 Makala Blvd. in Kailua-Kona.
Have you ever wanted to know about owning a franchise or perhaps franchising your existing business? This no-cost seminar will cover all the key points of the franchise business model. Topics will also include the diversity of franchising in 90-plus industries and debunk the myth that it is just about fast food and retail; the legal aspects you need to know before investing in a franchise, government oversight of the franchise industry, what you need to know if you want to franchise your business, and your options for financing a franchise business.
Expert speakers will include Scott F. March, JD, a Kona-based attorney who focuses on small businesses, start-ups, franchising and trademarks; Kari Waldhaus, franchise owner of The Entrepreneur’s Source, and a business and franchise coach who is the 2013 SBA Minority Small Business Champion for Hawaii County; and Christie Crawford, Bankoh executive with more than 15 years experience working with small business owners and the 2012 SBA Lender of the Year for West Hawaii.
