The recent annual Boy Scouts of America Camporee of the Pukahi District of the Aloha Council drew more than 50 scouts and adults from six Hilo and Puna troops for a fun night and day of scouting competition.
The continuous display of scouting skills was held at the Scout Center in Panaewa, right outside Hilo.
Among the popular contests were “fire by friction,” “catapult construction,” “knot tying” and other fun events employing useful techniques.
Any boys ages 7 to 17 interested in joining in the multifaceted fun of scouting are invited to call the Scout Center at 959-0079.
