Warning issued about dangerously high surf
HONOLULU (AP) — The National Weather Service says waves of up to 25 feet are expected Friday along north and west-facing shores of the Hawaii Islands.
The Weather Service on Friday issued high surf warnings for the north and west-facing shores of the islands. They say the hazardous waves are being caused by a powerful northwest swell. Forecasters say that will produce hazardous surf along exposed north and west-facing shores, along with strong breaking waves and rip currents.
Forecasters say anyone entering the water under these conditions could be injured or killed.
