Waiakea High School student Isaiah Jumila has earned a scholarship to travel abroad from the Pacific and Asian Affairs Council.
The PAAC provides up to 15 high school student the opportunity to travel in the Asia-Pacific region on full or partial summer study tour scholarships provided by the Freeman Foundation.
This year, the students will travel to China from June 10-24.
Students will sample urban and rural life in China as they travel from Beijing to Xian and Shanghai. They will study Mandarin at a language institute, visit a high school and spend a weekend with local families, and will visit the Great Wall and the Forbidden City.
