Ohana Fuels, a Top Tier brand of Hawaii Petroleum Inc., recently donated $5,060 to Hospice of Hilo.
Since 1983, Hospice of Hilo has been providing high quality, compassionate end-of- life care to the east and south portions of the Big Island. Last August, Hospice of Hilo opened the new state-of-the-art Pohai Malama a Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Care Center.
The care center, the first one of its kind on a neighbor island, serves the inpatient hospice and palliative care needs for the Hawai‘i Island community.
“Ohana Fuel’s generous gift will help us continue the quality and compassionate care provided to patients and their families in our new Pohai Malama a Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Care Center,” said Brenda S. Ho, CEO of Hospice of Hilo.
Ohana Fuels will continue to partner with nonprofit organizations that serve the needs of those living in our community by donating a portion of the proceeds from every gallon purchased at `Ohana Fuels.
“The name ‘Ohana’ represents a philosophy toward our employees, customers and the communities we serve,” said Kimo Haynes, president of Hawaii Petroleum Inc. “It’s through the continued support of our extended ohana that our charitable contributions program is possible.”
“There are so many non-profits in our community providing critical services to the young, elderly and less fortunate. It is encouraging to know we have businesses like Ohana Fuels who are committed to giving back and strengthening our community. We are so grateful for their support,” said An Umamoto, Hospice of Hilo development, PR and education coordinator.
