“On Sunday, our nation will celebrate Easter. Some will hide colorfully decorated eggs, candy and small stuffed bunnies for a traditional hunt in the backyard. But, the real celebration called ‘Easter’ centers on the crucifixion, burial and resurrection of God’s only son, Jesus Christ, as well as the free gifts of forgiveness of sins, unconditional love, and eternal life in heaven — gifts that only he can give,” said spokeswoman Jen McGeehan.
Everyone is invited to “Resurrection Weekend” today through Sunday, , featuring a full lineup of men’s, youth and family events.
“The messages will be of love, hope, healing, restoration, peace, power and reconciliation,” said McGeehan. “Resurrection Weekend” kicks off with a Good Friday Service on Friday, today at 7 p.m. “Saturday in the Park” events include a Holy Smokes BBQ lunch for the guys, young and not so young, at 12:30 p.m., and a youth rally that begins at 5:30 p.m. Resurrection (Easter) Sunday Service begins at 9 a.m., with food for the entire family and games for the kids immediately following.
