Hilo native Royden Ellamar, executive chef at Sensi restaurant in the Bellagio hotel and casino in Las Vegas, won a showdown against three other chefs on the popular Food Network program “Chopped.”
The 38-year-old Ellamar started his culinary career at age 15 at Ken’s House of Pancakes, and is a graduate of Hawaii Community College’s Culinary Arts program.
Ellamar received $10,000 for his victory on the show, which aired Thursday night. The program will air again on Tuesday, March 5. Check local listings for time and channel.
