Oracle CEO wants to build hotel on Lanai

HONOLULU (AP) — Billionaire Larry Ellison is hoping to start building on Lanai.

The Oracle CEO wants to put up a third hotel on the island and expand its airport.

The plans for a hotel that includes 100 bungalo-style rooms were unveiled Thursday by an Ellison representative who met with the Lanai Community Plan Advisory Committee.

Since buying the island back in June, Ellison has upgraded its two hotels and renovated parks, swimming pools and the island’s former plantation housing facilities.
