Search continues for suspect
LIHUE, Hawaii (AP) — A Japanese woman who was visiting Hawaii when she was pushed from a Kauai cliff and critically injured has been released from the hospital.
The Kauai Police Department is still searching for a man suspected of pushing the 31-year-old woman off the cliff near Kalalua Beach nearly two weeks ago.
They also are renewing an appeal to the public for help in finding 37-year-old Justin Wynn Klein. Police Chief Darryl Perry says officers have conducted a multi-agency search and sweep of the valley, but Klein has not been located.
A witness reported seeing Klein push the woman from the cliff on Dec. 16. She fell about 15 feet and was admitted to Wilcox Hospital in critical condition. She was released from the hospital on Thursday.
