The Aloha Performing Arts Co. is making preparations for its fifth annual gala fundraiser, this year entitled “Razzle Dazzle!”
The event on Saturday, Jan. 12, is a benefit for APAC and will consist of Broadway music and dance, gourmet food catered by Jackie Rey’s, and live and silent auctions.
“Razzle Dazzle!” will take place at the historic Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu, beginning at 6 p.m. Auction items will include artwork, walk-on roles, antiques, jewelry, ocean adventures and many one-of-a-kind items.
Entertainment will be in two acts.
The first act will feature songs from Broadway revivals such as “Chicago,” “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “La Cage aux Folles.”
The second act will highlight new Broadway tunes, with selections from “The Book of Mormon,” “Spring Awakening,” “Wicked,” Green Day’s “American Idiot,” “The Toxic Avenger” and “Jersey Boys.”
Dale Ross will be directing a small, hand-picked orchestra. Tickets are $75 and are available online at AlohaTheatre.com or by calling 322-9924. Seating is limited, so early ticket purchase is recommended.
