Twelve-year-old Lauren “Roarin’ Lauren” Selden, left, was joined by Jayda La Bam, right, during the Freeskate recently held by the Big Island Babes Junior Roller Derby at Wainaku Gym. Selden skated for the first time since being diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma more than a year ago. She underwent surgery to remove the tumor and chemotherapy in Seattle and is now cancer free.
