Students in Rika Inaba’s Japanese 4 Honors class at Hawaii Preparatory Academy recently made their own bamboo chopsticks with guidance from bamboo expert Bobby Grimes. “The concept is that the students make their own hashi and reuse them every time they eat,” said Inaba. The project was part of a class unit on sustainability.
