Hawaii Community FCU sets Market Day events
Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union joins credit unions around the world this month in celebrating International Credit Union Day and, in keeping with its philosophy of “people helping people, Hawaii Community FCU will hold its annual Market Day fundraiser.
The Kailua-Kona, Kaloko and Kealakekua branches will hold Market Day Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Kailua-Kona and Kealakekua, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Kaloko. The credit union’s Kohala and Honokaa branches will hold Market Day Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The branches’ Market Day will feature fresh produce, baked goods, rummage sale items and crafts unique to each branch. Everyone is invited to participate in their community’s Market Day and all proceeds will benefit the West Hawaii Community Health Center, the credit union’s social responsibility beneficiary.
This year’s International Credit Union Day theme, “Members Matter Most,” emphasizes that credit unions exist to serve their members. Those members are part of a global community where the philosophy of people helping people goes beyond the walls of each credit union and into the community.
Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit credit union currently observing its 75th anniversary. It is wholly owned by its more than 40,000 member/owners.
