HONOLULU (AP) — The University of Hawaii’s board is holding a special meeting to discuss President M.R.C. Greenwood.
The Board of Regents called the meeting after lawmakers grilled Greenwood about the athletic department’s bungling of a concert fundraiser and her response to the slip-up.
Greenwood is the only item on the agenda for Friday’s meeting at the medical school in Honolulu.
The board’s conversations will be closed to the public because members will be discussing personnel issues.
Lawmakers grilled Greenwood last week about a Stevie Wonder concert the athletic department planned but the singer never authorized.
The university wired $200,000 to a company claiming to represent Wonder, only to hear later from the artist’s real agents. The university hasn’t been able to recover the money.
