Spirited storyteller Kimberly Dark will return to the Volcano Art Center to spill all her talk-story secrets in a new workshop called “Written and Verbal Storytelling” on Saturday from 9 a.m.to 1 p.m.
The following Saturday, she’ll be back to host VAC’s new “tale-spinning stand-up” event where the audience is the entertainment. Story Flow launches Saturday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m.
Designed for writers or natural performers, those who want to be, or those just hoping to share a good story around the dinner table, “Written and Verbal Storytelling” offers sanctuary for anyone in need of a little practice at VAC’s Niaulani Campus in Volcano Village. The cost is $50.
Come back the next week for Story Flow: “The First Time” to take your story to the stage in this new recurring literary performance event. Each month will feature a fresh theme and no more than 10 stories will be shared.
October’s theme is “The First Time,” so come prepared with six minutes of topical material. Signup beginsat 6:45 p.m.; entry cost is $6. All stories are welcome for this non-competitive event, but entrants are asked to stick to the theme and aim for audience entertainment.
