“Due to the overwhelming public response to the initial sale of bagged black cinders held on Sept. 15, Puna Hongwanji has scheduled another work day and sale of the popular packaged cinders on Saturday, said spokeswoman Dwyna Potter.
Cinders will be sold for $3.50 per bag, if picked up at church, or $4 per bag delivered, with a minimum purchase of 10 bags. The sale will be from 8 a.m.-noon on the temple grounds at 16-592 Old Volcano Road in the heart of Keaau.
“And keep your eyes open for news of our upcoming annual rummage sale to be held on Saturday, Nov. 3,” said Potter. Cinders also are sold at the popular yearly event. For more information, please call Puna Hongwanji Mission at 966-9981.
