Police have charged a 34-year-old Hilo man with attempted murder and six other offenses for an alleged shooting incident last week in Keaukaha.
Jarvis Naoki Higa was also charged Monday with violating parole, unauthorized entry to a motor vehicle and four firearms violations.
His bail was set at $376,000 and his initial appearance was set for Tuesday in Hilo District Court.
At 1:10 a.m. on July 18, police responded to a report of a man threatening a 34-year-old Hilo man with a firearm. Police say a round was discharged in the parking lot of the Orchid Manor condominium complex on Kalanianaole Avenue before the suspect fled the area.
No one was injured in the incident.
