Annual building expo starts Friday

The Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce will present the eighth annual Building & Design Expo Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 20-22, at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa.

On Friday, the event is open to the public from 5 to 8 p.m. and includes a no-host bar and musical performance by Joe Conti from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Master of the 12-string MIDI Warr Guitar, Conti’s “Stick” can blend the single notes or chords of a piano with the string bending and slides of a guitar.

Weekend expo hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Visit more than 50 exhibits featuring home design, construction and remodeling ideas including home decorating; roofing and decking; flooring and window treatments; kitchen and baths; solar products and more.

Vendor booths will offer products, services and information relating to the building and improvement of homes, apartments and condos. Browse through a variety of local plants for sale and choose the ones just right for your location and personality. Be sure to come early as quantities are limited.

New this year is a grand prize giveaway consisting of products and services offered by participating vendors. Valued at over $3,000, this monster giveaway will go to a lucky expo attendee. The drawing is at the close of the expo on Sunday; winner need not be present to win.
