PALO ALTO, California — San Jose’s Chris Wondolowski scored his MLS-leading 14th goal to cap a big comeback as the league-leading Earthquakes beat Los Angeles Galaxy 4-3 on Saturday.
Wondolowski broke away from his marker and deftly redirected a 61st-minute corner from Marin Chavez to complete San Jose’s comeback from a 3-1, first-half deficit.
Steven Lenhart, Victor Bernardez and Sam Cronin also scored for the Earthquakes (11-3-3), who won their third straight to go four points clear of nearest Western Conference rival Real Salt Lake.
David Beckham and Landon Donovan both scored for Los Angeles, which also got an own goal during a 10 minute scoring burst that had put the visitors in control.
The Galaxy looked set for a fourth straight win before the game changed course.

In Columbus, Ohio, Tony Tchani scored for the second straight game and Eddie Gaven also netted as Columbus defeated Real Salt Lake.
The Crew has lost only one of its past eight games, while RSL lost a third consecutive game for the first time since 2007.
Tchani fount the net from 12 yards in the 16th minute.
Gaven doubled the lead in the 44th from a corner, putting in his shot off the crossbar.
The match was delayed an hour because electricity was out at Crew Stadium until Saturday afternoon following Friday’s storms.

D.C. United went clear atop the Eastern Conference standings with a win over Montreal.
Chris Pontius scored just before halftime and Robbie Russell and Hamdi Salihi added second-half goals for D.C., which went two points above New York, which was held to a draw Saturday.
United are unbeaten in their past nine home games.
The first-year Impact managed just one shot on goal and has picked up only four points from 10 away games.

In Foxborough, Massachussets, Diego Fagundez headed home a cross from Fernando Cardenas in the fourth and final minute of stoppage time to give New England a share of the points against Seattle.
The 17-year old Fagundez’s first goal of the season extended an unbeaten streak to four matches for New England.
Eddie Johnson headed home a pair of goals within a 13-minute span during the first half for Seattle, which came agonizingly close to breaking a winless streak which has now reached eight games.
New England had taken a 12th minute lead when Saer Sene scored his eighth goal of the season.

In Toronto, both teams scored inside the opening six minutes as Toronto were held to a home draw by New York.
Jan Gunnar Solli tapped in a cross from Brandon Barklage to put the Red Bulls ahead in the fourth minute, but Danny Koevermans soon replied for the hosts.
Toronto has only lost one of five games under Paul Mariner, who succeeded Aron Winter as head coach.

In Commerce, Colorado, Jaime Castrillon and Conor Casey scored four minutes apart in the first half as Colorado defeated Portland.

In Houston, Brian Ching’s 83rd-minute penalty gave Houston victory over Philadelphia.
Ching knocked the penalty into a top corner, after having being taken down from behind by Philadelphia’s Gabriel Farfan.
Brad Davis opened the scoring for the Dynamo in the 20th minute before Keon Daniel equalized for the Union in the 46th minute.
