The Philippine Consulate Outreach Team from Honolulu, in partnership with the County Immigration Information Office, will visit Hilo this week to process Philippine passport renewals, accept applications for dual citizenship, delayed registration of birth, report of marriage abroad and other consular services.
The team will be in Hilo on Friday from 2-6 p.m. in the ground-level Hamakua Conference Room of the County Building at 25 Aupuni St., and Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. across the street at the Aupuni Center Conference Room.
“The Philippines Consulate Outreach Team will be available to Filipinos and Filipino-American citizens of Hawaii County, who are encouraged to submit applications, as the Consulate Team comes to Hilo only once a year,” said Rose Bautista of the County Immigration Information Office.
“Most consular services require personal appearance, so applicants must to travel to Honolulu to submit their applications,” Bautista said. “The Consular Outreach Team allows Neighbor Island applicants to avoid travel expenses that would otherwise be incurred by having to travel to Oahu.
For more information, please contact Bautista at 961-8220.
Appointments are recommended.
“This will also be an opportunity to meet the newly appointed consul general, the Honorable Julius D. Torres, and members of his staff, who will be available to answer questions and concerns about Philippine-related issues.”
