‘Aelike: A Process Allowing for Individual Voice, Visibility, and Validation in Groups will feature guest speaker Lenore Ku‘umeaaloha Gomes, director of the University of Hawaii Kua‘ana Student Services.
“‘Aelike draws upon concepts of family ho‘oponopono, consensus decision making and peaceful strategies for problem resolution that allow for each person in a group setting to participate from a place of power,” said Gomes.
“‘Aelike encourages group participants to be aware of the privilege they bring to groups, helps create a safe environment for each person, and creates space for all voices to be heard and validated. Through this process participants commit themselves to ‘making room at the table’ for those historically marginalized and kept away,” said Gomes.
There will be opportunity for questions and answers, discussion and sharing. Visit www.collaborativeleadersnetwork.org.
