The Friends of the Zoo auxiliary support group invites the community to its 14th annual plant sale from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, at the county’s Panaewa complex. This year’s sale will be held at the Panaewa Equestrian Center entry circle right before the zoo.
Shoppers will have lots of selections, including bamboo, vireya, palm, day lily and water garden varieties.
Kehou’s Sweets will be on hand to offer coffee and goodies for sale.
“So, come early for the best selections. Beat the rush for beautiful and exotic plant gifts for Mom and your other loved ones, and don’t forget to stop by and visit Namaste and his animal friends at the Panaewa Rainforest Zoo & Gardens after the plant sale,” said a spokesman for the volunteer, nonprofit Friends organization.
