HONOLULU (AP) — Gov. Neil Abercrombie has released $34 million to upgrade state facilities.
The funding will be used for capital improvement projects at state buildings used for education, health services and communications.
The funding includes $9.3 million for design, construction and artwork for a new classroom building at Waipahu Elementary School.
Another $5 million will be used for emergency disaster infrastructure at Kona Community Hospital on the Island of Hawaii.
In addition, $113,000 will go toward engineering services at radio sites on Hawaii Island to enhance the Hawaii-Wide Area Integrated Infromation Access Network’s critical communications infrastructure.
