Big Island police are searching for a brother and sister reported missing from Hilo.
Sixteeen-year-old Mariah Akima has been missing since March 2. She is described as Hawaiian, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 122 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black sweater and black jeans.
Fifteen-year-old Zachary Akima has been missing since March 3. He is described as Hawaiian, 5 feet 6 inches, 120 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a red, black and white plaid jacket, black and blue surf shorts and a black cap.
Police ask that anyone with information on the whereabouts of either teenager call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
