UHH’s Pepin puts up goose eggs

University of Hawaii at Hilo senior Jessica Pepin is the reigning Pacific West Conference pitcher of the week, and she added to her scoreless innings streak Monday with a another shutout.

The right-hander pitched a four-hitter with four strikeouts in the Vulcans’ 7-0 victory against Chaminade in Waipio, Oahu. Pepin (6-6) hasn’t given up an earned run in her last 27 innings pitched, including two victories last week that helped her gain the PacWest honor.
