On March 10, the Young Miss Lehua Hawaii contestants participated in a food drive for the Food Basket at Hilo Walmart. The contestants wanted to help replenish the food supply for needy families who request the food bank’s services.
In February, the Miss Teen Lehua Hawaii contestants collected donations for the Battered Women’s Shelter. This program provides shelter and assistance for women and children in life-threatening situations. The contestants collected toys and hygienic items.
The Young Miss Lehua Hawaii and Miss Teen Lehua Hawaii pageant will be held at the Civic Auditorium on April 28 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available from all of the contestants and are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.
