Hawaii unemployment hits lowest level in 3 years
HONOLULU (AP) — Hawaii’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate has fallen to the lowest level in three years.
The Hawaii State Department of Labor & Industrial Relations says February’s unemployment rate was 6.4 percent, down from 6.5 percent in January. It’s the fourth consecutive monthly drop.
The last time the state’s unemployment rate was at 6.4 percent was in February 2009.
The education and health services sector saw the biggest increase with 1,000 jobs added.
Nationally, last month’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 8.3 percent.
