Senior pitcher Waracka honored
University of Hawaii at Hilo’s Amber Waracka has been selected the Pacific West Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 4.
During that week, the senior from Kahaluu, Hawaii posted a 3-0 record in three PacWest softball appearances and two starts with a 0.00 ERA in 17.2 innings of action. She allowed just six hits, no runs and four walks while striking out 14 hitters and recorded two shutouts.
Baseball team
hits the road
The University of Hawaii at Hilo baseball team is embarking on an 18-day, 16-game road trip through the Pacific West Conference.
The Vulcans (4-17 overall, 1-11 PacWest) first head to St. George, Utah to face Dixie Sate College (12-6, 8-4) in noon HST doubleheaders today and Monday. They travel south to Phoenix for their next pair of doubleheaders with Grand Canyon University (9-14, 6-10). Heading to California, their first stop is Riverside to play California Baptist University (21-4, 18-2) in a three-day series that starts March 27.
The trip ends in San Francisco when they play Academy of Art University (0-19, 0-12), Saturday through Tuesday, March 31-April 2.
USTA Adult League
