Project Hawaii is sponsoring its seventh year of providing a free summer camp for low-income, homeless and poverty-stricken keiki on the island.
The Adventures Abound Day Camp session runs from July 2 through July 10. The agency is a nonprofit operated 100 percent by volunteers and solely supported by public donations.
Project Hawaii is seeking volunteers who would like to share their talents with the keiki. The goal is to open their minds and hearts to the island around them, and what further possibilities they have.
The keiki are between the ages of 3-7, so preschool or first-grade activities work best. The available time slots are from 10:10 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. and 1:10 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. Locations vary from Keaau, Puna and Hilo areas.
Some suggestions might be music, art, crafts, dance or what you’d like to offer.
