Parker School is hosting five international high school students this year.
The students — two of whom are visiting from China, two from Germany and one from Ukraine — have found their way to Parker through the International Hospitality Center and the Center for Cultural Interchange.
The exchange students are senior Anastasiya Polishchuk from Ukraine, juniors Zhou Hongjin and Yao Yu Long from China, and sophomore Alex Guske and junior Simon Lorscheid from Germany.
“Meeting and sharing ideas with students from other nations and cultures enables our own students to develop the global awareness needed for success,” said Ann Renick, Parker director of admissions.
Rami Ring, a Parker School parent whose family is hosting Lorscheid this year and hosted a student from Lebanon last year, said, “Having an exchange student can be a very rewarding experience for the entire family… We believe we are not only building lifelong friendships, but also teaching our kids that we are all basically the same.”
