HELCO plans power outage

Hawaii Electric Light Co. will conduct a scheduled power outage from 1:30-5 a.m. Friday for customers from Kapaau to Pololu Valley.

The outage will allow HELCO personnel to safely perform maintenance repairs within the Halaula Substation, according to a HELCO press release.

HELCO recommends unplugging any sensitive equipment prior to the outage.

Customers dependent on electric powered, life-sustaining medical equipment should make necessary arrangements.
