Slow draft day for Hawaii players

There were no players from Hawaii selected on Day 2 of the Major League Baseball draft, leaving Waiakea graduate Kodi Medeiros as the only player in the state to be taken in the first 10 rounds.

The Milwaukee Brewers chose the left-handed Medeiros 12th overall on Thursday.

The draft wraps up Saturday with rounds 11-40, and Hilo graduate Jodd Carter and Kamehameha graduate Makoa Rosario are among the players who could hear their name called.
