Lady Vulcans tied for fourth at golf tournament
University of Hawaii at Hilo’s Erika Morihiro was tied for third place heading into today’s second round at the Sonoma State Women’s Spring Golf Invitational in Rohnert Park, Calif.
Morihiro’s first round 3-over-par 75 was five strokes behind the tourney leader, Cal State East Bay’s Andrea Castellanos, who shot a 2-under-par 70 on Monday.
UHH’s Nyssa Aoki was tied for 11th at 6-over-par 78 while teammate Dayna Bersamin was a stroke behind and tied for 14th place. Kristen Sawada was at 9-over-par 81 and tied for 23rd place, followed by Kacie Harada (T29, 82) and Jade Salvador (T44, 87).
Cal State East Bay leads the tournament with a 303 total, followed by Sonoma State (312), Cal State Monterey Bay (318), UHH (320), Point Loma (321), Academy of Art and Texas Wesleyan (324), Newman (327), Sonoma State-Blue (328) and Dominican (341).
