Two sex offenders indicted
A Hilo grand jury has indicted two Big Island men for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
Everett T.K. Akimseu faces two charges of failing to register for the periods between December 2010 and September 2013.
The 52-year-old Akimseu was convicted on two counts of third-degree sex assault in 2002. He’s listed as non-compliant on the state’s sex offender registry, which lists his last known address as 1001 Railroad Ave. in Hilo.
Habib R. Shabazz also faces two charges of failing to register for the between October 2010 and October 2013.
The 36-year-old Shabazz was convicted of second-degree sex assault in 2003. He’s also listed as non-compliant on the state’s sex offender registry, which lists his last known address as 45-3611 Mamane St. Apt. 108 in Honokaa.
Failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements is a Class C felony punishable by up to five years imprisonment.
