Road work slated for Big Island
The state Department of Transportation announces the following daily roadwork for Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., weather permitting:
l On Puainako Street (Highway 2000) in Hilo, alternating lane closures in both directions between milepost markers 0 and 1, for roadway reconstruction.
l On Hawaii Belt Road (Highway 19) near Kalopa, alternating lane closures in both directions between Kahawai Road and Hauola Road, for shoulder paving.
l On Akoni Pule Highway (Highway 270), alternating single-lane closures in both directions between Hawi and Kapaau between milepost markers 21 and 24, for roadway reconstruction.
l On Mamalahoa Highway (Highway 190), alternating lane closures in both directions south of the Waikoloa Road intersection, for roadway widening.
l On Mamalahoa Highway (Highway 190) in Makalei, alternating single-lane closures in both directions between Uluoa Street and Old Kona Village Road, for pavement striping and guardrail installation.
l On Mamalahoa Highway (Highway 11) in Captain Cook, alternating lane closures in both directions between Kiloa Road and Rabbit Hill Road, for guardrail installation.
l On Mamalahoa Highway (Highway 11) in Kainaliu, alternating lane closures in both directions near milepost marker 14, for guardrail installation.
Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.
