Katherine Carmen Torres Correira, 93, of Hilo died Oct. 10 at home. Born in Honokaa, she was a homemaker, seamstress and member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Celebration of life held. Survived by daughters, Pheobe Correira and Lorna L. (Richard) Ganigan of Hilo; hanai daughter, Duenna (Glenn) Kawanishi of Oregon; brother in-law, William Correira of Hilo; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.

Zelda Ninipo Lainaholo Kelson, 61, of Keaukaha died Nov. 21 at home. Born in Keaukaha, she was a financial representative at One Main Financial, founder and head coach of Cuzins Volleyball Club, Hilo High School alumna Class of 1974 and member of 1973 Vikings state volleyball champions, former University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine volleyball player, Merrie Monarch Festival mo‘i wahine in 2005 and 2006, and member of Kuhio Chapel in Keaukaha and Hale Pule Ke Ola Hou in Keaukaha. Visitation 9 a.m.-noon Saturday (Dec. 2) at Kawananakoa Hall in Keaukaha. Funeral service at noon. Cremation to follow. Casual attire. Survived by husband, Kendall Kelson of Keaukaha; sons, Ashferd (Nicole) Kelson of Keaukaha and JR (Pohai) Kelson of Mountain View; hanai son, Allen (Ana) Lainaholo; daughter, Anela (Damien De Mattos) Kelson of Keaukaha; sisters, Leonetta Lainaholo and Junedale Lainaholo of California, Joni Bonilla of Panaewa; nine grandchildren; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Eusebio Manding Maneja, 80, of Papaikou died Nov. 9 in Hilo. Born in Sidiran, Dingras, Ilocos Norte, the Philippines, he was a retired employee of the former Hilo Coast Processing Co., small business owner, ginger and taro farmer and member of Papaikou International Longshore and Warehouse Union Pensioner Club and Papaikou Senior Citizens Club. Visitaiton 9-10:30 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 3) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Lunch to follow. Burial 1:30 p.m. at Alae Cemetery, new section. Survived by wife, Clarita Talon Maneja of Kurtistown; daughters, Annabelle (Michael) Maneja-Andres, Catherine (Dr. Craig Fujioka) Maneja, Eunice (Richard) Harbottle, Rebecca (Richard) Atiz and Ruth (Stacey) Jarneski of Hawaii; sisters, Apolonia (Nicasio) Maneja Valledor of Papaikou and Juanita Maneja Sales of Manteca, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; cousins, nephews and nieces. Josefina Achuela Padamada, 89, of Keaau died Sept. 29 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, the Philippines; she was a retired flower packer and member of the Hilo Iloco Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesess. Visitation 5-9 p.m. Friday (Dec. 1) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Service at 6 p.m. Visitation again 8-10 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 2) at the chapel. Service at 10 a.m. Casual attire; no flowers; Burial at Alae Cemetery, section I. Survived by sons, Orlino (Nerie) Padamada, Felix (Teresita) Padamada Jr., Gilbert (Vilma) Padamada and Tito (Medita) Padamada of Keaau; daughters, Perla Gouveia and Nora (Jose) Galarse of Keaau; brother, Eugenio (Glory) Achuela of the Philippines; 20 grandchlildren and 11 great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews. Bruce Kawika Toshio Urabe 40, died Nov. 12 at Kaiser Moanalua Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, he worked for Avis Rent-a-Car and Lex Brodie’s in Kona and McDonald’s and Domino’s Pizza in Hilo, was a member of the Ball and Chain Fitness channel on YouTube and Hilo High School Class of 1995 alum. Celebration of life 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Onekahakaha Beach Park in Keaukaha, pavilion No. 6 and 7. No flowers; donations welcome. Survived by mother, Margaret Kuulei (Kamelamela) Urabe of Hilo; son, Austin Kiyoshi Kawika Urabe of Hilo; girlfriend, Keani Jim of Hilo. Arrangements by Ballard Family Mortuary.

Sylvia Haaheo Choo Whittington, 85, of Hilo died Nov. 11 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Cemter. Born in Honolulu, she was a homemaker.
