Allan Gilmore Bredeson, 83, of Papa Bay died Oct. 31 at home. Born in Nekoma, N.D., he was a retired public school teacher in San Diego, substitute teacher in West Hawaii, member of Kona Faith Center and International Palm Society and U.S. Army veteran. Mary Josephine Hashimoto, 81, of Kailua-Kona died Nov. 8 at Hospice of Kona Nakamaru Hale. Born in Wailuku, Maui, she was a cashier at the former Kealakekua Chevron and the former Mrs. Field’s Cookies in Kealakekua and the former Waiakea Theater in Hilo. Bill Lowe, 75, of Hilo died Nov. 6. Born in Pennsylvania, he was a retired Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority senior ethics officer and U.S. Army veteran. No services. Jean Reiko Samura Lukela, 86, of Honolulu died Nov. 2. Born in Wailea, she was a housewife and parent volunteer at Kamehameha Schools. Ryan Aka Menezes, 38, of Conroe, Texas, formerly of Hilo and Hakalau, died Aug. 8 in Conroe. Born in Hilo, he was a civilian avionics contractor to the Army, U.S. Army reservist and Army Iraq War veteran. Visitation 5-5:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec.3, at Connect Point Church, 168 Holomua St. in Hilo.
