James “Jim Blake” W. Blakey, 71, of Hilo died April 23 at the Queen’s Medical Center. Born in Dothan, Ala., he worked as a property manager. Celebration of life to be held at a later date. Survived by daughter, Sara Thomas of Peoria, Ariz.; sister, Judy (Eddie) Barnes of Tallahassee, Fla.; nephew, Cason (Karen) Barnes of Alexandria, Va.; and a niece and great-niece.

Dwayne Owens Childress, 71, of Ocean View died April 26 at his home. Born in Albuquerque, N.M., he retired as senior chief electrical engineer for the U.S. Coast Guard. Celebration of life at 11 a.m. Sunday at Manuka State Park. Survived by wife, Jewel Childress of Ocean View; sons, Doyle Childress of Kailua-Kona, Eugene (Elanezia) Childress of Brazil; daughter, Dena (Wayne) Eckstrom of Petaluma, Calif.; step-daughters, Sarah (Robert) Hilliard of Kailua-Kona, Gwendolyn (Lester) Brent of Volcano; brother, Paul (Mona) Childress of Arizona; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a niece and a nephew. George Masao Horike, 76, of Hilo died April 27, at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, he was a computer technician for AT&T and a member of the Kaiwiki Community Association. Dyreson Aaron “Babu” Kuoha 59, of Panaewa died April 6, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was the owner and proprietor of Kuhina Taxi & Tours. Edna Jean Marsh, 84, of Holualoa died April 19 at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. She was a member of the Glendale College of Nursing administrative staff and was assistant to an acupuncturist in La Crescenta, Calif. Survived by husband, Earle W. Tony Oliver, 57, of Pahoa died April 26 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia, he was a retired postal worker in California. Edison “Eddie” Navarro Reyes, 68, of Captain Cook died April 25 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Pinili, Philippines, he retired from Kona Community Hospital as a kitchen helper and was a member of Christ Church Episcopal Kealakekua. Private services held.
