Ronald Henry Brinkman, 72, of Naalehu died Feb. 26 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in West Branch, Mich., he was a self-employed construction contractor, owner of Woodrose Coffee Shop, member of Operating Engineers union and U.S. Army veteran. Services held. Survived by wife, Charito McFadden of Naalehu; stepson, David (Sarah) McFadden of Naalehu; stepdaughter, Deana (Nate McCasland) McFadden of Naalehu; sister, Darlene Girolamo of Minnesota; half-brothers, Paul Brinkman, Daryl Brinkman, Henry (Charlotte) Brinkman and Howard Brinkman of Alaska; four stepbrothers; two granddaughters; nieces, nephews and cousins. Kawenalanionapua “Kawena” “Wena” Poli‘ahu Low-Hopeau, 3, of Hilo died March 7 at Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Hilo. Visitation 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday (March 23) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Aloha attire. Private burial at a later date. Survived by mothers, Britney and Dixie Low-Hopeau; sisters, Tyrayjah Torres and Josydean Low-Hopeau; grandparents, Lorna Hopeau, Lordel Kapika, Dollymae Mawae and Robert Low Sr.; great-grandparents, Ruby Low and Joseph Mawae Sr., Evelyn and Jesse Ontiveros; aunts, uncles and cousins. William “Billy” “Ape” Kanaeholo, 59, of Las Vegas died Feb. 13 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired U.S. Navy veteran with 25 years of service. Memorial service 10 a.m. Saturday (March 18) at AJA Veterans Hall in Hilo. Survived by his wife, Carman; mother, Evelyn; children, Naio Kanaeholo, Ona Kanaeholo and Ryan Shirck; brothers, Julian Jr., Jerome and Sandy; twin sister, Mina; four grandchildren.

Ida Belle Flack Williams, 91, of Waiakea Uka, Hilo, died March 6 at home. She was born in Knoxville, Tenn. Services held here with interment in Knoxville. Survived by sons, Ulysses Gino (Cynthia) Guillermo of Waiakea Uka and Boyd Williams of Knoxville; daughters, Emeral W. Price of Los Angeles, Maudie W-Duarte and Gloria W-Rodgers of Knoxville; brother, Zack S. Flack Sr. of Knoxville; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tomoaki “Tom” Yoshina, 82, of Hilo died Feb. 6 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired general contractor for S. Yoshina Contracting and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Operating Engineers Local 3. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by wife, Fumiko Yoshina of Hilo; daughter, Valerie Yoshina of Hilo; sisters, Shigeko (Daniel) Uekawa and Jane (Roy) Nagata of Hilo; nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
