Panty Party benefit raises $5,000 for Aloha Ilio Rescue

Jane Wiedlin’s Panty Party, a “Celebration of Women,” raised nearly $5,000 during the sold-out event in December at the East Hawaii Cultural Center in Hilo.

The party included a burlesque show and a fashion dog show featuring sexy shelter dogs from the Hawaii Island Humane Society. All the doggie models are in the process of being adopted.

“The party was such a great fun night! Thank you to everyone who was there!” said Wiedlin, in a Facebook post. “I’m so happy the doggies were adopted!”

Wiedlin is a longtime animal lover and animal rights activist, and is best known as the rhythm guitarist and singer/songwriter of the female rock band the Go-Go’s. Jane Wiedlin’s Panty Party included thousands of dollars of brand new Felina lingerie and brand new high-end makeup in a widely popular silent auction.

All of the proceeds will benefit Aloha Ilio Rescue, which encourages people to adopt their next pet. The mission of Aloha Ilio Rescue is to stop the overpopulation and euthanasia of unwanted dogs on Hawaii Island.

Aloha Ilio Rescue adopts dogs from the Hawaii Island Humane Society Shelter and finds them their new forever homes.
