Gladys Fumiko Fujihara, 73, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 24 at Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Kealia, she worked at the former Kona Poi Factory and was a waitress at the former Kona Inn Hotel. Born in Pahala, he was retired from the state Department of Accounting and General Services, former bulldozer operator for K. Mizuno and Sons, worked for the former Ka‘u Sugar Co. and was a U.S. Army veteran and member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and United Public Workers. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Loretta A.
