The Hilo Pony All-Stars only played three games at the state PONY League baseball tournament, but Matsu got in a full tournament’s worth of hitting.
The freshman at Kamehameha collected seven hits (.636), with a triple, two doubles and six runs scored from the leadoff spot.
Perhaps most memorably, he played a key role as Hilo rallied from a 12-run deficit to win Saturday.
