Julia Barbosa Gonzaga, 84, of Pahala died May 28 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in North Bacsil, Bangued, Abra, Philippines, she was a retired harvester for Mac Farms of Hawaii and member of Pahala Holy Catholic Church. All-night vigil 6 p.m. Friday (June 22) at the family home, 96-1170 Holei St., Pahala. Wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday (June 23) at Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass at 10 a.m. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Burial to follow at church cemetery. Survived by husband, Domingo U. Gonzaga of Pahala; sons, Isidro (Vicky) Alvarez of Temecula, Calif., Floyd (Helen) Alvarez of Wahiawa, Oahu, Alex (Virgie) Alvarez of Waipahu, Oahu Val “Toy” Alvarez of Jacksonville, Fla., and Joselito (Cindy) Enovejas of Hilo; daughters, Cecilia Alvarez Dalere of Hilo, Leticia Alvarez Bautista of Kapolei, Oahu, Aggie England of Hawaii Kai, Oahu, and Zenaida (Leslie) Andrade of Naalehu; 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Leroy Lihau Lewi, 60, of Waimea died April 26 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Hamakua, he was a groundskeeper and banquet porter for the former Kona Surf Resort, mechanic’s helper for Kona Country Club and meat cutter for Island Pork Produce. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Sunday (June 24) at Kona Palisades Recreation Center. Celebration of life at 11 a.m. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Survived by wife, Lucille Lewi of Kailua-Kona; son, Kaleo (Aloha) Lewi of Holualoa; daughters, Lushanya (Dennis) Martin of Kailua-Kona, Lacey (Roman) Rodrigues of Las Vegas and Lennell Lewi of Kailua-Kona; brother, Karl Lewi of Nanakuli, Oahu; sister, Rebecca Zettler of Nanakuli; four grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Patrocinio “Pat” “Cinio” P. Sacayanan, 70, of Papaaloa died May 31 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired seed cutter for the former Hamakua Sugar Co. and member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Marchuma “Mollie” Cabatoan Salomon, 87, of Kailua-Kona, formerly of Kukaiau, died June 3 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Olaa, she was a homemaker, member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa and member of Pueo Hawaii kupuna softball team. Visitation 8-9:30 a.m. Friday (June 22) at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire. Burial at a later date at Kukaiau County Cemetery. Survived by daughters, Marilyn (Bernie) Billena of Papaikou, Alberta Fox and Teresa Salgado-Nakama of Kailua-Kona, Angela (Gary) Silva of Ookala, Marla (Samson) Rabang of Kohala; sons, Al “Black” Salomon of Kapehu and Alfred “Boysan” (Kathryn) Salomon of Kailua-Kona; brother, Sylvester “Fish” (Edel) Madarang of Arizona; sister, Felisa “Fely” Rosario of Kohala; brother-in-law, Joseph “Joe” Estencion of Honaunau; sister-in-law, Carol Cablay of Maui; 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
